I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Yo Gabba Gabba! is the one and only show my Emma will watch. Between the characters, bands, dancing and the incredibly cool tricks, she just can’t get enough. If you saw my post a few months back where she became star-struck upon meeting DJ Lance (not the original mind you), you might have an idea of just how much she loves the entire Gabbaland crew.
Yo Gabba Gabba!: Clubhouse is the newest release from Nickelodeon. It is 96 minutes of dancing, singing and our favorite characters Muno, Foofa, Brobee, Toodee and Plex. It also features great guest stars, including Erykah Badu, The Sounds, The Killers, The Aquabats, Jack McBrayer, Paul Scheer, Jimmy Eat World and Mark Mothersbaugh, the lead singer of Devo, who has become a regular on the show.
The first episode, Clubhouse teaches children to share. Brobee and Muno build a clubhouse and won’t let Foofa and Toodee join in. Is it any wonder that the more mature ladies built the coolest ever treehouse and allowed the boys to play? Typical!
Next, we join Muno and friends in an Adventure through the jungle beneath Gabbaland as they search for a hidden treasure.
You might have seen this next episode, Summer on Nick Jr, where the gang sings and plays all sorts of outdoor activities that are synonymous with summertime, like bubbles, pools and more.
The last episode, Animals, rounds out the DVD teaching kids how to be inquisitive and responsible when it comes to caring for pets and plants.
I know a lot of people think this show is crazy, and it may be a little zany but I find it to be educational, at the same time. We’re all entertained by the super cool music bands that perform and we have a great time dancing around the family room together and just enjoy being silly. Just look at my little one getting her groove on. What could be more fun than that?
