At around round the age of two, we bought Ryan his very first 10-inch bike. He’s now two-and-a-half and he still has not ridden it. My son’s cool new birthday bike only caused him a lot of frustration instead of fun. Enter the Y Velo balance bike.
The YBike has everything he loves in a bike and without the one thing that frustrates him, the pedals. He doesn’t yet have the coordination for working pedals with the push and pull motion us older kids are used to.
With this pedal-less bike he can go for a ride without using the pedals or having them scrape his little legs. The seat is adjustable so this is also a great bike for those children who need to practice their balancing skills when they’ve outgrown training wheels but are not yet ready to ditch them entirely. The YBike is perfect for both transition situations.
That makes this a great value for parents knowing their children will use it for a longer period of time, or several periods rather. My daughter even has friends in the neighborhood who can ride a two-wheel bike but like to ride pedal-less bikes for fun. I love a toy with lasting value.
For all of the reasons above we recommend the YBike for our Holiday Gift Guide. At $59.99 it’s a gift that will give children ages 3-5 a confidence boost and that’s the best kind of gift I think. You can find Yvolution on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

this would be great for my nephew. he is almost 3.
looks like a great bike for the kids to learn with!
What a great looking bike – I love the idea of just using your own steam in a different way to get around.
I remember having a bike very similar to that when I was a kid. It was a thick, plastic, learn-how-to-ride bike. Of course that was over 30 years ago. Funny that seeing this picture brought back that memory of a similar bike I had forgotten.
I can’t get my 8 year old daughter to learn to ride a bike. It’s so frustrating. Maybe if I got her something like this it would help.
