I had just enough time to run into the house to grab my camera.
This hawk (?) was posed like this for several minutes. Ran in to get my telephoto lens but it disappeared before I could get a closer look.

I love to see hawks in our yard, they can have all the mice they want. I think this one is a bottom feeder of the departed animals.
Wow! That is incredible! A telephoto lens would have been almost too good to be true.
