Win tickets to see The Young Messiah!

By Heather

The Young Messiah

Now just in time for Easter is the story of The Young Messiah. I’m excited to see this new film because there hasn’t been much said about Jesus as a boy. Most of what we hear or see stories about are of Jesus’ birth, his teachings as an adult and his death.

The Young Messiah is not just a story about Jesus. It’s the story about Jesus and his family. Heading into this film the producers knew this was a fresh take on Jesus and the Holy family. The filmmakers quickly realized Mary and Joseph faced many of the same problems as parents today.

Remaining true to the character of Jesus revealed in the Bible, The Young Messiah is an inspirational story about the childhood of the Savior for the whole family. When the mystery of Jesus’ divinity begins to unfold in His early years, He turns to His parents for answers. But Mary and Joseph, in an effort to protect their child, are afraid to reveal all they know. How do you explain the ways of the world to its Creator? How do you teach the Teacher? How do you help the Savior who came to save you?

This story helps us parents realize the importance of doing the right thing rather than the easy thing, because they’re often not the same. Follow the young Messiah as He and His family take the extraordinary journey from Egypt to Nazareth and on to Jerusalem – where His true identity and profound destiny are revealed.

The Holy Family inspires me to love the Lord in all things – whether it be cooking and cleaning or setting an example for my son. Thinking about the Holy Family reminds me that the Lord loves us in the little things and the big things – and that whatever I’m feeling, they can relate. I really would love to see this movie!

I believe that the holy spirit reminds us to love and respect one another. We support each other, even if we don’t always agree with each other’s choices, and we are always there to protect each other. I think it is very important that we keep that bond.

We are inspired to try to live a closer, supportive, and more loving family life in the manner in which we believe God would like us to.
