Any decorating pro will tell you that painting a room is the least expensive way to drastically change its look and feel. But drapes? It doesn’t matter if they’re not custom-made or hand-sewn, even mass-produced panels can be pricey. Which is why we have yet to use them in this house, aside from a few sheers in our living and dining rooms.
When I was decorating Emma’s room before her arrival, I was hard pressed to find a set that fit within the décor that also had the functionality I needed (privacy and room darkening). Eventually I gave up on the idea of using drapes and just went with faux-wood blinds and the topper that matched her nursery bedding. I knew it wouldn’t be forever.
Now we are days away from converting her crib to a full-size bed, and with it her room is getting a more grown-up makeover. I don’t however plan on repainting the room as I’ve already painted it twice. We’re sticking with pink walls for a few more years, and I loved that the Palm Beach Pink Curtains from Baby Bedding Zone were mostly white with just a touch of pink detail.
I also couldn’t help but notice that the curtains retail for $650.00, but I didn’t really believe it until I opened the package. You have to see them firsthand to really appreciate the quality of construction and the fabrics used. Even still, I would never pay hundreds for two drape panels. Never. Baby Bedding Zone is offering 90% off that price, and $65.00 is a much more affordable price.
The pink-trimmed scalloped edging is lovely. The set comes without the valance, but it does include tiebacks. The panels help to darken the room thanks to the heavy detailed fabric and full lining.
