Shoes sure have come a long way since I was a kid. Now the styles available for kids are so much more adult-like. I love Umi Shoes because while they take cues from the latest trends, their shoes still have that child-like innocence which is part of the reason why they’re one of my favorite brands. Not to mention that they’re sturdy, well-made, and comfortable for growing feet.

We are heading into summer soon and we’ve already had a few 80-degree days here in the Northeast. Thank goodness, because we couldn’t take any more of that winter weather. Emma needed new sandals badly, especially now with our upcoming trip to Florida. I was looking for a great pair of gold flats that would look great with whatever she’s wearing, whether it be sundresses or shorts.

Nowadays she has much more of an opinion when it comes to shopping for clothes and shoes, so we both selected the Areli II sandal. I loved the double stitching on the straps and the cushioned footbeds, and Emma was smitten with the silver accents or “jewels” as she calls them.

Another factor which I didn’t even consider when ordering is that these are easy to get on and off thanks to the velcro straps. There’s nothing wrong with buckles, but these make life so much easier.

We do a lot of walking in the summer, especially on uneven surfaces like the boardwalk. I can tell that these sandals will hold up to all of the abuse and keep my daughter’s feet comfortable while looking great.
