We’re weeks away from the official summer kickoff, but grilling season has already begun where we live. Oh, how I love cooking dinner outside, and leaving the mess out there too. This summer we’re aiming not only to cook more on the grill, but to actually eat on the patio as well.
We eat a lot of turkey in place of beef for leaner, healthier meals. My first burger of the season was this delicious turkey burger with grilled apples and brie, served with a raw honey “faoli”.
The first step is to make your burger patties. Mix together the ground turkey, sage and onion powder and form your patties. Cook on a hot grill to an internal temperature of 165 degrees fahrenheit.
Meanwhile, grill sliced apples on an oiled grill until done. I sautéed onions as well, and I think it helps round out the flavors.
Now as for the faoli. A real aoli is delicious but I prefer recipes that are quick and easy, and it doesn’t get easier than this. Just whip together your favorite pre-made mayo with honey and red pepper flakes.

What a burger! Yum. I have been wanting to incorporate more ground turkey into our diet. I made a turkey meatloaf the other day and it turned out great and the family loved it.
This sounds so interesting, I haven’t had a burger with apples and brie before!
Oh yes smother it will cheese and onions. Yum! That looks so good!
These turkey burgers look delicious and full of flavor. They are a great alternative to beef and allow burger lovers to enjoy their all-time favorite food.
Yum this looks and sounds so beyond good, yum! Would love to have one of these right about now!
When cooked right, and with ingredients that add flavor and texture, Turkey Burgers are amazing! I know a lot of people who just throw them on the grill and slather them with condiments then complain that they taste like cardboard- well, duh. I love this recipe and will be trying ASAP!
Those are amazing. I love the idea of adding BRIE. I am a huge fan of this cheese
I love ground turkey. We try to use it in every meal that takes the place of beef!
Those sound delicious. What a great twist on a burger.
