**CONTEST CLOSED** Randy started making wooden crafts for family and friends 25 Years ago. With the downturn in the housing industry, he found himself suddenly out of work and with plenty of time on his hands. That’s when he decided to start selling his children’s toys on Etsy. His shop, ToyWorx is filled with wonderful heirloom quality wooden toys, from game boards to trains!
He tells me, “It has been fun and interesting talking to people from all over the world. However, my girlfriend doesn’t care for seeing toys all over the house and watching a grown man playing with them.

I’ve always loved wooden toys like this, ever since I was a child (yes girls can play with trucks and trains too!). As a parent I look forward to seeing my daughter enjoy them. Randy sent us his Wooden Train Set to review. These toys are not recommended for children under three, and as you may Know my daughter is just a few months shy of turning one. Our neighbor, Eli tested this train for us. He loved the fact that it has passengers and he enjoyed taking them out and running them over! (Boys will be Boys :). When I asked Eli if this was a good toy, he told me “Yeah!” That’s as good as it gets!
The craftsmanship is marvelous. I love the dimension added by the combination of oak and black walnut lumber. It has seven cars in total and is 45″ in length. The engine, passenger and caboose have hinged tops so that the passengers can get in and out. Above all, these are safe, non toxic toys for your child; the worst you might ever have to worry about is maybe a splinter. That is worth its weight in gold.
