I’ve been sick enough times to know when something is wrong with my body and I have enough experience to sometimes diagnose my children’s illnesses. Sometimes I know exactly what is plaguing me/us but even so many doctors require you to come in for a visit. That’s not always feasible or possible. I have countless instances but here are the top 3 times I Needed a Walgreens Healthcare Clinic Philadelphia.
1) That time the entire family got pink eye on a Saturday
Pink Eye. It can sometimes be confused with other things, but I’ve had it enough times to know what it is when all of the symptoms were present. Getting sick is never convenient, but when it happens on the weekend it becomes even less so. Walgreens Healthcare clinic is open 7 days per week.
2) The time when my piercing became infected
This one is kind of funny. When I was a teenager and my parents wouldn’t let me get the popular multiple piercings up my ear (beyond the first set), I decided to do it myself. My parents were either completely oblivious or I was good at concealing my ears, but they hadn’t noticed for days. When my ear had became 3 times its normal size and I was writhing in pain, I had to tell my mother and she was furious. All I needed was a strong antibiotic but instead I was forced to wait for hours in the ER for something silly, because of course this also happened when regular office hours were closed. Embarrassing and painful.
3) When I was sick with a viral infection and my arms full
It’s hard to take care of others when you can’t even care for yourself. I’m sure many parents can relate. When I’m sick it usually means more schlepping for me. I have two kids in tow, and we have to go from the office to the pharmacist with lots of waiting in between plus the amount it takes to wait and pay for my medicine. When you’re hurting, time should be spent in bed and not out and about.
You can visit with healthcare professionals in an easy stress-free environment at Walgreens for patients 18 months and older. I think what I love most is that the pharmacy is right there too. Most of the time for me, the cure involves a prescription so that means running from place to place. I could easily kill time at Walgreens while waiting fir a prescription to be filled., couldn’t you? It’s nice to know that there is a cheaper and more convenient alternative to the Emergency Room.
The only good that comes out of sicknesses are the snuggles.
