I’ve been wanting to share some parts of my daughter’s toddler room. It’s not a full room reveal but some of our favorite parts.
We had a big wall to cover but knew we didn’t want some typical toddler art. My daughter LOVES disney movies, especially the older versions we have on VHS – and all of the pictures/prints/art online was of the current cartoony princesses, not of the traditional characters she was getting used to. I decided to get poster prints online and put them in cheap Ikea frames – I couldn’t be happier with the result!
There are so many great poster prints on ebay, you can get really creative with the idea – superheros, antique cars, vintage flower prints, disney characters, the possibilities are truly endless!
Another part of the wall was on the side of bay windows and I wanted some place to incorporate lots of prints/books/trinkets that normally would get scattered around the room. Enter the ledge shelf (another ikea buy!). I bought 3 for each side of the bay window and filled them up – since they are out of reach from my daughter’s hands they are also great for some of the more special items:
Next, I had been searching high and low for some sort of storage idea to wrangle my daughter’s headbands – and there just isn’t anything out there! So I found this jewelry holder at Ross Stores and decided to repurpose it – use what you can find!
Lastly, my daughter was moving into our guest room, and there were regular closets in there, no special closet designs/organizations and I didn’t want to go crazy with custom closets that she may ultimately outgrow. So I did a little online search for closet extenders and voila!
This is 1/2 of the closet, we bought two of the extenders for about $20 total and it was money well spent! They hook right on your top closet rod, and you can see how strong they are by all the clothes they hang! You can also adjust the length very easily.
That’s it! Some of my favorite decor ideas for my little ones big girl room. What are your favorite finds for your “big kid rooms?”

Aww the little closet. :) I think everything looks great, but the little items in the closet made me miss my baby granddaughter. :)
