We absolutely love summer in New Jersey. It feels so wonderful to get outside and enjoy the warm weather again. Spending time outdoors is so nourishing to the body and soul. After a long winter hibernating indoors, we can finally be out and active again.
One of our favorite things to do is take long walks and bike rides around the neighborhood with friends and family. It’s a great way to enjoy nature, to unplug from all of the tech gadgets and get some exercise. It’s nice to come back from a walk and enjoy some time together other refreshing drinks and healthy snacks.
Lemonade is a favorite summer drink but it’s often loaded with sugar. We’re trying to cut back on all of that extra sugar but we still enjoy lemonade and I love how this recipe uses SPLENDA® to keep a lid on the sugar without sacrificing on that yummy lemon flavor. This week we tried a new drink recipe called Thirst-Quencher’s Lemonade. I found it online at SweetSwaps.com.
Thirst Quencher’s Lemonade
- 2 slices lemon
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 3-4 mint leaves
- 3 packets SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener
- ½ cup chilled soda water or water
- ¾ cup ice
- Mash lemon slices, lemon juice, mint leaves, and SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener with a spoon in a tall glass until lemon and mint leaves are bruised.
- Stir in soda water/water. Add ice.
After years of using lemonade mixes, I’m a convert. This drink was so refreshing and not overly sweet. The muddled mint adds the perfect flavor. I’m not sure why I never thought of using SPLENDA® Sweetener Products in lemonade, but I’m sure glad I have a delicious recipe to share with friends and family.

Looks cold, refreshing and wonderful. Less calories too!
Nothing beats Lemonade on a Sunny Summer Day. It is best when served chilled .. the Mint Leaves make it super refreshing
I love using Splenda instead of sugar – it really helps cut back on calories. I use it in lemonade, too.
I love a cold, refreshing glass of real lemonade especially during the hot summer months! And,I love that this version is without a pound of sugar!
That lemonade looks very refreshing. Especially during the hot summer months!
I tell you, there is nothing like spending the day out and about with the kids and family, then coming home to relax with a nice glass of lemonade. I never thought of making it with Splenda. Thanks for the idea.
This does sound like a great drink to have out on grilling days or cookouts. I’ve never tried mint in a drink like this but it sounds good.
That looks amazing! I love drinks that don’t have any sugar
This is a great recipe. Sounds so refreshing, it will be a perfect summer drink!
