My daughter, Caroline, is into all things birthday. Before she turned 2 years old, she was singing “Happy Birthday” to everyone she met. So, I jumped at the chance to get her The Wiggles Big Birthday DVD.
As a toddler, Caroline has a short attention span so she usually won’t make it through an episode of any show without getting distracted. When we put Sprout on she loves dancing along to The Wiggles. Anything with music keeps her happy and focused (which is key when I try to get some things done around the house!).
That being said, we had yet to try a full-length movie or DVD. So when she was sick last week, we decided to try The Wiggles Big Birthday DVD. The DVD is about 140 minutes long, so we didn’t make it through in one sitting, but it definitely kept her happy for a substantial period of time.
The DVD is sort of one long episode, with various cutaways to the live show, jokes and blooper reels. My only complaint is that it wasn’t as “birthday” as I had expected. Other than a quick explanation in the beginning and graphics of balloons, you couldn’t really tell the DVD had a birthday theme. Rather, the live part of the show had a circus-like feel. Regardless, it was highly entertaining show for my sick toddler and a DVD I know we’re going to pop in for years to come.
The Wiggles Big Birthday DVD retails for $12.99, but can be purchased at Amazon for $9.99 – a great deal for over two hours of toddler entertainment!
