In many ways this blog leads me down an unhealthy path. Being a blogger involves a lot of sitting around. Additionally, I’m often faced with many temptations. Who can resist a delicious box of decadent chocolates and/or salty snacks when they’re delivered right to your doorstep? And that’s the point of The Prime, a book written by Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary. It’s nearly impossible to resist some of the toxins that are so addicting in many foods we are used to eating.
Today this blog is helping me along on my journey in getting healthy once and for all. You see, it’s not just weight loss that I’m after here. It’s health. It’s mental clarity. Weight loss is just a natural side effect of The Prime’s 4-stage system.
We’ve heard about the studies before. Many foods can be just as addictive as drugs and science has proven it. The problem is, our bodies adapt to anything whether good or bad. Once our bodies get used to what we’re already addicted to, we want more of it. Suddenly that big mac and fries isn’t enough to satisfy our cravings so we need that ice cream sundae too. This particular excerpt from the book really hit me:
Certain foods, especially processed and restaurant foods, contain a virtually irresistible mix of flavors and ingredients that light up the same parts of your brain as addictive drugs.
The Prime really resonated with me. As I read along I found myself nodding in agreement with all of the symptoms resulting from an addiction to chemicals and preservatives. I have been experiencing things like brain fog, frequent illness, painful gastritis and aches and pains and a thing called ama.
But the premise of this plan is not so much what you eat, but how well you digest it. And according to The Prime, once you start to cleanse and free yourself from the toxin load, cravings for them will cease to exist. This is not just about what you eat; it’s a body and mind approach to a healthy lifestyle.

I haven’t heard of a natural detox before. I would love to know more about this.
Sadly, my work entails sitting in front of a computer tracking employee performance. Stress is my constant companion and these two factors do not at all help in curbing my craving for fast food fare. I need to get more exercise and practice discipline in choosing the right food to eat.
This sounds like a very enlightening book! I’d like to learn more about the subject of the toxins we put in our bodies through processed foods. I’m adding this title to my must read list!
I have been limiting Carbs and portions and boy was I tired the first few days. By the 5th I started to get my energy back.
I know the struggle of sitting around too much from work and not feeling like you’re at your healthiest. I will have to check this out.
As someone who knows about detoxing, I am very interested in this. My liver seems to be always in need of a detox.
This sounds great. I keep hearing about how good a detox is for the body, but I haven’t tried one yet. I think it’s about time.
I have frequent headaches, and I know that can be symptomatic, as well! This is interested! Thank you for the giveaway – entered!
**Interesting** (Can you tell my head hurts right now?! LOL)
This sounds like a great book. I have been trying to eat healthier the last two weeks. It would be good to know what foods I should eat.
My job also requires me to sit all the time! I feel like this book could help me discover which foods are good for me and how to avoid the ones that are bad and get me back on track to a healthy lifestyle!
