I loved this book when I was a child, and now there’s a film that brings it to life in “The Little Engine That Could”. The story follows a little boy named Richard who wanders through the park and accidentally ends up in Dreamland. An aspiring choo choo named Little Engine works to bring him back to the real world, facing her fears and finding determination along the way – as does Richard.
The movie features an all-star cast including Whoopi Goldberg, Jamie Lee Curtis, Patrick Warburton, Dominic Scott Kay, Brenda Song, Corbin Bleu and Alyson Stoner. It makes the movie so much richer when you can recognize those famous voices.
Emma just loves this movie. Trains are her latest obsession and between the story, vibrant colors and uplifting music, it keeps her attention. I like that it also addresses bullying and how to handle it – which also makes this movie appropriate for all ages. It’s a movie for the entire family to enjoy.
