The Best Way to Clean Your Face: Clarisonic Mia

By Heather

Featuredimage mia colorfan 400x234 10072011Back in August, my girlfriend and I did a spa day together. It was a fun, relaxing day – except when it came time for the facial. It was my first ever, and I didn’t expect the pain, but the end result was so worth it. My skin was so smooth and clear for weeks.

During my consultation, the facial specialist basically told me that I need to do better when it comes to taking care of my skin, both by protecting it from sun damage, and through gentle exfoilation. I’ve never had severe acne or problem skin, but I do have to deal with large pores and small bumps beneath the skin in some areas.

Last night I finally had the opportunity to try my new Clarisonic Mia. I couldn’t wait to try this skin cleansing system but since it is cordless, I had to let it charge for 24 hours before I could give it a go. The charger magnetically attaches to the handheld device, and on the backside the led light blinks until it’s charged.

After the Mia was fully charged, I finally got to try it out. Just wet the brush and your face with warm water, apply cleanser, and get to work. The brush bristles are ultra-soft, but once turned on you get more of an exfoliating feeling due to the speed. It really tickled when I got to my nose, but that’s where my problem pores are, so I had to stick it out.

My skin was so smooth and clean afterward, I was really impressed. I’m also really pleased with the size of the Mia. It’s small enough to fit comfortably in your hand, and will easily fit in your makeup bag. And you can even use it in the shower!

The Clarisonic Mia:

-Cleanses 6x better than with your hands alone in just 60 seconds
-Works with skin, not against it, to gently massage away impurities trapped within pores
-Prepares skin for better absorption of creams, serums and moisturizers
-Gentle enough to use 2x a day

The Mia is available in twelve different colors for the price of $119.99. I really think this type of powerful facial cleansing will allow me to space out those painful facial sessions by preventing clogged pores in the first place.

Disclosure: No compensation was received for this post. Clarisonic provided the sample to facilitate my review of their product. All opinions are my own.

Do you think the dual speed model is worth the extra money? Is one speed good enough?
