One thing I didn’t expect when I brought Emma home from the hospital was how much we would use all of those swaddle blankets. Her days were spent wearing them, basically. It makes such sense now that I think about it; babies are so used to the cramped quarters within your tummy, and it must feel strange to have so much extra space once they’re out. Like the opposite of claustrophobia.
In addition to keeping her safe, Emma slept in good lengths when she was properly swaddled. The challenge was to figure out how to swaddle her as tightly as possible, because once she could break her arms free, it was all over.
Last week I was going through all of Emma’s newborn clothing and accessories to see if there was anything I could use again for the boy, and in that bin I came across all of her old receiving blankets which were all in varying shades of pink. Most of them were heavyweight flannel to keep her warm in those first few winter months. They were of decent quality, but there’s no comparison to the SwaddleDuo set we just opened.
They’re available in 17 different styles, but this Striped Due Gift Set, True Blue and Sterling is absolutely precious. In the package are two swaddle blankets, a flannel striped one for cooler temperatures and a lightweight woven cotton blanket for warmer days featuring a cute little chickie design.
It’s no wonder these blankets are award-winning. I’ve never seen such amazing quality in a receiving blanket, between the fine fabrics, detailed stitching and unique patterns.
How much? These are high-end receiving blankets, with a bit of an elevated sticker price at $38.00 for two. They are so lovely, though. Use promo code CELEBRATE for a 10% discount.
