During those first several weeks of her life, Emma wore a HALO SleepSack practically every day. This, we found, was the easiest way to swaddle our new baby as inexperienced new parents, thanks to the velcro-wrap design. The SleepSack’s are both a wearable blanket and a swaddle all in one, which is great because as new parents know, using regular loose blankets is a no-no as they carry a risk of suffocation in those first months.
Since the little guy will be arriving in late Spring, I thought the cotton SleepSack would be the perfect weight for keeping his body at the right temperature and cozy as can be.
There are a few unique features that I love about this item. For one, the blanket portion unzips from the bottom, so baby can stay covered up top during diaper changes. Also, as the baby gets older, it’s easy enough to wrap the swaddle with arms out when a snug swaddle is no longer needed.
Throughout the design, there are features that serve as safety reminders swaddle chart right on the inside of the swaddle wing, and the embroidery at the front chest stating, “back is best.”
HALO does their part by educating consumers about sleep safety, and they also donate a percentage of every sale to First Candle/SIDS Alliance and The Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths.
