There were no diaper cakes at my baby shower. I’ve always noticed them at showers for friends and family and was intrigued by them. What exactly are diaper cakes? Well, it depends on the cake. They’re made mainly of diapers for the mom-to-be, but the “cake” can also be dressed with a number of other items. Toiletries, clothing, washcloths, and toys among other things.
At Diaper Cakewalk, the cakes are categorized by gender or theme and there are so many to choose from that it will take you awhile to decide on just one. There are cakes that are completely organic, small and large cakes, and if you really want to make a statement you might select a diaper castle instead of a cake.
We already have an under the sea theme going on in Emma’s bathroom, so for the little man we chose the Deep Blue Sea diaper cake. It wasn’t easy choosing, let me tell you, but I thought this one was dressed nicely with lots of cute goodies for bath time and beyond.
This diaper cake includes all of the following in the 4-tier version that I received:
70 Pampers Swaddlers
hooded whale towel
0-6 month onesie
washcloths
wash mitt
burp cloth
whale bath sponge
bath toy
no-scratch mittens
baby socks
This is a lovely gift for a new mom; whether for the shower or when her new baby arrives. It features some of the essentials mom will need in that first month and beyond, in a beautifully-wrapped package. Certainly a wiser choice than sending a bouquet of flowers.
How much? Prices vary, but the Deep Blue Sea 4-Tier cake is $94.00 and only $5.00 to ship.
Make sure you check out Diaper Cakewalk if you’re looking to treat a new mom to something unique and special. Keep up with the company through their Facebook and Twitter pages as well.
