America: The Great Melting Pot. People come from all over the world to raise their families here, dating back hundreds of years to a mere few seconds ago—and they keep coming! But with such a multifaceted culture, sometimes it’s easy to forget our cultural roots, the countries where our family and ancestors have come from.
I love the idea of keeping up with traditions and letting your children know about where your ancestors came from. I am Irish-Italian. One day I hope to bring my daughter and husband to visit where my family came from in Ireland and Italy, two absolutely beautiful countries. For now, I can help my daughter experience Italy with the new book, The Adventures of Bella and Harry: Rome.
These amazing books introduce kids to the different customs, history, language, and geography of the world’s major cities. And with countries that include Turkey, Israel, Scotland, and Italy, to name a few, kids can learn about all of their different family heritages.
Children are guided through these dazzling places by two Chihuahua siblings named Bella and Harry. Transported overseas with these two little dogs, kids get to tour historical landmarks, famous market-squares, and try traditional garb and food.
And the book includes my favorite spot in Rome, the Trevi Fountain!
The illustrations are amazing. Not only does the book highlight historical and beautiful locations throughout Rome, it includes some Italian words and phrases – Caroline loves practicing them with me :)
Even better, the series has been already trusted by moms — The Adventures of Bella and Harry has earned their fifth Silver Award in the Moms Choice Awards for family-friendly media, products, and services and will be featured on QVC in August!
Definitely check these books out! Their Facebook page gave a sneak peak of a Dublin book coming out soon, and I can’t wait to read it with my daughter! You can find the selection online at retailers such as Amazon (currently only $13.73).
I received a copy of this book for consideration.
