What are your must haves when looking for places to dine? For us, the kids want to eat familiar food that they enjoy, my husband wants big portion sizes, and I want good quality delicious food at a great price. Tarantella Ristorante has been a longtime favorite for us because it satisfies all of our needs in a place that feels like home.
We have done both takeout and dine-in at this restaurant over the years and it never disappoints, but on our most recent visit we dined in. It was surprising how busy the restaurant was on a Tuesday evening around 6 o’clock. That’s nice to see and also speaks to the good business they have going here, with a loyal following of customers.
One of my favorite things about eating here is the yummy complimentary garlic knots and bruschetta that the waiters serve when you’re seated. Absolutely delicious and it’s hard not to fill up on bread because we want to eat everything when we come here. For appetizers, we ordered our family favorite, fried calamari and we also enjoyed a plate of fresh mozzarella with roasted peppers.
There were a good number of specials on the menu that evening. The one item I was considering was no longer available so I went with the Shrimp and Veal Momos, which is dipped in egg and sauteed in white wine and lemon with mushrooms and sundried tomatoes and topped with cheese. The kids ordered pizza and lasagna, and they were happy campers.
My husband Kevin chose the Seafood Riviera Combination, a broiled favorite that includes lobster tail, mussels, scallops, clams and shrimp in a light scampi sauce with sundried tomatoes over linguini.
Everything was absolutely delicious, and did you happen to notice the portion sizes? The plates at Tarantella are ginormous. I challenge anyone who dines here to try and finish their meal completely, because I do not think it can be done. The portions are so large that you’ll have leftovers for lunch the next day, and possibly even dinner too!
But let’s not forget about dessert. I have tried most of the desserts here and so far I love the Brulee cake the best. This last time I had the Grandmother’s cake and it was just okay for me. I preferred the fruit cake Kevin ordered so I stole a few bites of that, and of course I ordered my cappuccino which was delicious.
If you live in or near Burlington County, I recommend you stop by Tarantella Ristorante in Medford for a great meal. Make sure you follow them on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates and news.
