I’m really enjoying the abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables of summer. There’s never a better time to enjoy salad for lunch and dinner. I tend to stick with a few main ingredients when making my salads: romaine lettuce, red onion, tomatoes and cucumbers. This would get old quick if I didn’t change it up daily with the extras.
We received so many great organic ingredients the other day from Shiloh Farms. There are enough options among them to create multiple variations on my standard salads and entirely different ones too. We have a family recipe for Tabouleh Salad and I have been wanting to make it for years; now is the perfect time to give it a go using the organic bulgur wheat.
Today I added sunflower seeds and dried cranberries to my salad for that perfect crunchy/sweet combination I love. Yum! I never thought I would like eating salads as much as I do, and the key is in the fun additions like these!
About Shiloh Farms:
In 1942 a group of like-minded people gathered on a farm in Western New York and founded the Shiloh Community. Their common goal was to live and work together in health and harmony. To help support themselves and sustain their lifestyle they created a bakery and became known for their hearty, healthy all-natural products. Organic certification had not yet been invented. This was the beginning of SHILOH FARMS®.
