I’ve been looking for a great pair of summer shoes for Emma for the past several summer seasons. What I’ve seen out there has been disappointing. Flip flops don’t protect her toes and the water shoes I’d found gave her a case of sweaty feet. I really wanted a shoe that could take her from the beach to the boards in comfort, and finally I found the the perfect shoe from Pediped.
The Darcy shoe is a mary jane style shoe with a mesh upper to keep feet dry and a sturdy closed toe to protect those feet. When we received them Emma immediately tried them on and refused to take them off. Usually we don’t wear shoes in the house but since this pair was new I made an exception!
I explained to her that these are water shoes. Maybe I shouldn’t have worded it that way because she wanted to wear them into the swimming pool during her swim lesson today. She was really upset that I was telling her to take them off before entering the pool so I told her that while these can get wet, we don’t necessarily have to get them wet. :)
Today we went from the pool to the wildlife refuge, and these shoes were perfect in both locations. I love these on her. My only regret is that she didn’t have this shoe at the beginning of the summer. The Darcy shoe is currently on sale for $42.00 a pair at Pediped.com.

Those sound awesome. A lot of the beaches on the cape (Cape Cod) are rocky – especially the ones on the bay side (the top), so I always have my boys wear water shoes when we go. They’ve each cut their feet a few times, so shoes like these are perfect for that.

We picked up two pair of the Grip ‘n Go early walker Pedipeds for H recently ($9.99 each pair, still in the box at a kid’s consignment boutique) – and they’re awesome! We would definitely spend the full price tag for them as he gets older (unless, of course, we find another sweet second-hand score).
Hope you guys are having a great summer!
