They say there is a pro and a con to everything We love the summer season but summer weather certainly does present several beauty challenges.
We’re always looking for new products and tools to help combat dry/oily skin, crazy damaged hair and jagged nails. Luckily we have found some great items that help keep us looking our best despite those obstacles.
Summer Beauty Picks
Fresh Nails

Our time is precious in summer more so than any other time of year. With only 2 1/2 short months of it, we need to maximize pool, beach and family fun time. We love the new “Royal Splendor” collection by Sally Hansen which requires no salon or UV lights. Couple the pretty shade of your choice with the Miracle Gel™ 2X Volume Top Coat for a beautiful long-lasting mani. Best of all, it removes easily with regular nail polish remover so you don't have to worry about damaging your nails. Available in seven gorgeous shades for $9.99; Sally Hansen
Tame Frizz

With summer humidity comes crazy hair. We love this Tame Frizz by KMS California. Not only does it tame the frizz but also resists humidity so you can keep your hair looking great all day and night. Those of us with fine hair will love this lightweight formula. $18.99; KMS California
Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!

This is the key to great summer skin. Laying in the sun and swimming in the pool take a toll on our skin making it dry and ashy. When we heard about ToiletTree's new face and body brush system, we couldn't wait to try it. In 2010 we reviewed their fogless shower mirror which is still going stron. This water resistant brush system includes four interchangeable rotating heads (2 face brushes - 1 soft for sensitive skin, 1 medium for normal skin; 1 large body brush; 1 pumice sphere for tough foot skin) that cleanse and exfoliate skin from head to toe. Comes in 6 great colors for $34.95; ToiletTree
Scalp treatments

Summer sun, sand and salt are hard on the scalp, causing dry flaky skin which doesn't look or feel good. Philip B Anti-Flake Relief Shampoo ($39) provides instant scalp relief and Katira Hair Masque ($44) deep treats while fighting humidity. ** PhilipB.com**
Clear skin
It makes sense that our skin breaks out in the summer. We sweat, we wear pore-clogging sunscreen and pimples happen. Clear, the first blue LED acne spot treatment, delivers breakthrough tri-action technology: blue light, sonic vibration, and gentle warming to heal and eliminates skin blemishes on the spot. After using it just once we noticed a difference - and that's coming from a skeptic. $39 mepower.com
I’m exfoliating obsessed!!!! I need to get one of those gadgets!!!! Sounds pretty fab!
I have that exact color on my toes right now. Love that shade of blue for summer.
I love gel nail polish because it makes your manicure last much longer and look pretty for a long time too. Sally Hansen has some of the best nail polish colors.
The scalp treatment sounds like something I could for sure use! I think these are some great picks, wish i was more into beauty!
I hate frizz in the summer. One of my editors tried the ToiletTree and really liked it.
These are some great finds! I am very interested in Clear. The price seems so reasonable!
I actually am using that Sally Hansen gel polish. I just love it. I picked up a few shades for the summer. This is a great list!
