Strawberry Shortcake–Puttin’ on the Glitz DVD

By Heather

posterStrawberry Shortcake was one of my beloved characters when I was a little girl, so I just love that she’s making a comeback.  What parent doesn’t love to relive their childhood a bit?

Emma is just now getting to her through the new DVD Strawberry Shortcake: Puttin on the Glitz.

DVD Synopsis
Fabulous new fashions, sparkling musical ‘Glamicures’ and delightful new ‘Dos’ have Strawberry and her friends ‘Puttin’ on the Glitz’!  But all that dazzles quickly unravels with a misunderstanding until the girls find creative and kind ways to be honest with their feelings and with their friends. It’s heart-to-heart makeover magic as the girls learn that nothing looks as beautiful as friendship feels!

Available for the suggested retail price of $14.98, and even less on amazon, this would make a great addition to any Easter basket.  The DVD also features printable coloring pages for even more fun.

Our thoughts
Emma loved watching this DVD.  The colors are so bright and vivid, and the animation is very cool to watch.  I’m still getting used to the fact that Strawberry has grown into a cellphone-using teenager.  I miss the old Strawberry, but I guess that’s the way it goes. Kids these days love to watch shows about older characters.  But at least Strawberry Shortcake still helps teach kids right from wrong.

No compensation was received for this post.  I was sent a complimentary copy of the DVD to facilitate my candid review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

[…] Emma actually owns this doll and I had no idea it was a Madame Alexander creation.  We love that it’s the classic version and not the modern Strawberry Shortcake. […]
