The Kid’Sleep Moon (MSRP $49.99) is a night light, sleep trainer and alarm clock all in one! It helps young children have an understanding of when it is time to get out of bed and when it is not. It is a great tool for nighttime self regulation to help both parents and children get more sleep. It does not matter if your child is one or seven years old – after testing it out on our 6-year old, we can attest that this works for all ages!
Caroline has been sneaking into our bed the last few nights, claiming nightmares. Every now and then is expected, but it’s become way too much of a routine for our liking. She knows she isn’t supposed to leave her room, but we have blackout shades so sometimes she just doesn’t know if it is “morning” (or a normal waking hour) just yet. We figured we would give the Kid’Sleep Moon a shot.
This is the sweet image they see during the night:
If the sleeping animal is lit, kids know to stay in bed. When the awake animal is illuminated, it is okay to get out of bed and start the day. Kids naturally relate to the sleeping or awake animal (which is great for the young ones, since color recognition is not required).
A fun daytime image appears when it’s time to wake up (i.e. leave the bed!)
Kid’Sleep Moon has really thought every all sleep-related issues — it has a sunset function that eases children into sleeping and a sunrise function that warns them that it is almost time to wake up. In addition, there are four different lullabies to help children relax and fall asleep. The Kid’Sleep Moon has three settings for morning, nap and weekend wake-up times, and an optional alarm with four different sound choices. In addition there are four different levels of brightness.
