When planning Ryan’s first ‘Very Hungry Caterpillar’ birthday party, I took to Etsy to see what kind of fabulousness I could find there. Because there’s always something amazing on Etsy, can we all agree on that? I wanted to make the dessert table special, just like I had with Emma’s Tangled party and I obviously wanted to incorporate the foods featured in Eric Carle’s book.
In my past life as an artist, I worked with all different mediums, but food art is definitely not my forte. Best to leave that to the professionals, and Sisters Cakery Bakery was up to the task. I was so excited to finally see the cookies from the listing I had favorited weeks ago.
A large box arrived at my door a few days before the party. I decided not to unwrap them until the day of our event; I worried that the cookies would go stale. So just before cake time, me and a few friends frantically unwrapped the cookies. Each one was individually wrapped in bubble wrap and sealed in its own sealed baggie.
I served them with the cake and other desserts and my guests were in awe. They put the finishing touch on what would otherwise be a boring dessert table.
The cookies are all hand-decorated and they are stunning. You almost don’t want to eat them, and they taste pretty good too. But I love them for their looks. I will definitely be checking in with Sisters Cakery Bakery for our next party.
You can purchase 18 of these fabulous Very Hungry Caterpillar Cookies at Sisters Cakery Bakery for $32.00 plus $15.00 shipping.
