Sharrott Winery in Winslow, New Jersey ($25 Gift Card Giveaway)

As a wine lover, I’m always looking for new varietals to try and enjoy. The soil and lay of the land here in South Jersey reminds me of Italy. Much of Italy is very flat like it is here, and we have rather sandy/rocky soil. It’s no surprise that there are quite a few of great wineries in the area, and I just discovered a new favorite spot: Sharrott Winery.

The week before last I met with Eileen and Larry Sharrott Jr. who co-own the winery with their son Larry Sharrott III and his wife Danielle. It was great to get a behind the scenes tour and enjoy a personal wine tasting.

My personal favorite of all of the wines I tasted was the Barrel Reserve Chardonnay. It’s a great dry wine with fruity undertones, and not the least bit bitter like with other chardonnays I’ve tasted.

Like I said before, there are quite a few wineries in our area, but what sets Sharrott apart from the rest, in my opinion, are the fun events held there like Girl’s Night Out, the Live Summer Music/Wine Tasting series, and many more. I’m hoping to attend one of the Sharrott Winery events very soon!
