Shark® Rocket® Powerhead vacuum review

By Heather

Sample provided for review.

Shark Rocket Upright Vacuum

When I was a kid, my mom had one of those heavy canister vacuums. It did a really great job, but it was always crashing into the walls and furniture (and did I mention it was heavy?) By comparison, almost any upright vacuum is a joy to use. Vacuums have come a long way since then, but there are so many upright versions on the market with varying features that it can be difficult to decide on one.

The Shark® Rocket® Powerhead is the newest vacuum I’ve had a chance to try and I can say with certainty that this is the lightest upright I have ever used. It weighs just 9 pounds.

Shark Rocket Brushroll

It comes with two brushrolls; one for carpet and one for hard surfaces. I love that the vacuum includes a compartment that attaches to the stick to store whichever brushroll is not in use. Vacuum accessories can easily get lost and this attachment provides a home for it. Changing the brushrolls is quick and easy.

This vacuum seemed to work much better on hardwood floor than on carpet, especialy with regard to the edge cleaning. There are two power settings depending on your needs. The rocket was very agile; you can turn it in different angles and it’s able to go flat under furniture with ease.

Shark Rocket Vacuum Review

There isn’t a very large area for the dirt and debris to go and that’s really the only negative for me.  We’ve got a lot of dirt and crumbs in our house! The dust cup releases and pulls out very easily and empties with the press of a button.

Overall I think that this is a great little vacuum. The light weight makes it ideal for people who have a lot of stairs, someone unable to do heavy lifting or for a quick cleanup. It definitely packs a punch for a light weight vacuum.

The Shark® Rocket® Powerhead is priced at just under $200.
