I tend to go overboard when hosting events. Even if it’s a kid’s birthday party, I make myself crazy over every last detail. I want everything to be perfect and everyone to enjoy but in the end I don’t enjoy myself. There isn’t much time to mingle when you’re running around like a crazy person!
So when I was put on a mission to throw a “Stress-Free” party, I knew I would have to keep it simple. I mulled over the idea to make a few fancy cocktails for my guests, but I knew how that would go down. Me stressing – and what’s the fun in that?!
Yesterday Ryan and I did the shopping. We went to Trader Joe’s to find some delicious snack food and then picked up several bottles of wine. Easy. When we got home it was time to clean up so that my guests would feel welcome and comfortable. No one wants to visit a messy house.
I think most moms would agree that we need our kid-free time, so I decided that us girls would hang out in the basement while Daddy took care of all the kids upstairs. He’s good like that. I set up the bar with some delicious apps that were fancy, yet simple. No fussing!
This is our favorite way to relax when we get together. Wine flowing, yummy snacks and great, uninterrupted conversation.

I love secret! I normally do not like the wet deodorants, but the wet powder they have really works and doesn’t leave any stains or wetness, it dries up really quickly! the scents are also clean and fresh. I really like this new line and have noticed a major difference in my underarm sweating.
