Word has it that this allergy season is one of the worst since the Civil War era. Ironically, my allergies first made an appearance when touring the battlegrounds at Gettysburg, forever changing my life. Since contacts are not an option with these itchy, watery, mucousy eyes of mine, my eyeglasses have been a life-saver.
Until my allergies became a major problem, I only occasionally wore my prescription eyeglasses. If it wasn’t for them, I’d be walking around blind. Literally.
So while glasses are a fashionable accessory for some, they are a necessity for me. Especially during this time of year.
The only thing that I dislike about glasses is that I miss being able to wear my sunglasses on the rare occasion that I do get to go outdoors. I was thinking of ordering glasses online that are equipped with transitions lenses. I always thought those types were the eyeglass equivalent of the mom jean, but I suppose they have come a long way too, right?
