What kind of sub do you tend to order most? I always go for italian style. The salami is what makes that sandwich. I love love love salami. At home, I’ll make it with turkey and cheese, or just cheese. Sandwiches are great, but here’s a fun new way to enjoy salami – Baked Salami Sticks.
As you know, I love easy recipes. The simpler, the better. You can count the ingredients needed on less than five fingers and that’s my favorite part, other than the fact that these are positively delicious.
The star of this recipe is the Salami. My favorite variety is Genoa, but you can use any type of meat you prefer.
You may also use won-ton wrappers but I went with the larger version, egg roll wrappers. Once I cut them in half, I felt like they were the perfect size for the task. All you have to do is place a slice of salami on the wrapper and roll it up tight. I love rolled apps! The dressing really helps seal the wonton so it can stick together while adding a bit of flavor.
This snack is easy to whip up in a moment’s notice. The only challenge for me is refraining from eating all of the salami right out of the package!
Serve as an snack, appetizer or eat them for lunch like I did. I think these will be a hit at our next family party. I was surprised to see my two-year-old noshing on these between joyous exclamations of, “Nummy!”
