It’s so sticky lately in New Jersey that I’ve been eagerly awaiting fall. I’m ready to trade the hot and humid weather for crisp cool air so that I can enjoy my coffee outside on the patio in complete comfort. Soon my porch will be adorned with potted mums and my mantle will feature fall decor. Autumn truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
Decaf used to be my go-to but I’ve finally got the all clear to enjoy regular coffee and oh how I had missed it. One of my favorites is the Dunkin’ Donuts® Original Blend Ground Coffee. This delicious roast is smooth and flavorful, perfect for my morning of afternoon cup of Joe. It’s the yin to my yang in every way; after one cup in the morning I feel ready to take on my crazy day. Stop and Shop always has great prices on my favorite coffee and this week you can save an additional $1.25 off with this coupon.
DIY mugs are a favorite go-to craft. This project is super easy and fun. All you need is a mug (cheap dollar store mugs work just fine) and an oil based paint marker.
Step 1: Decide on your design and transfer method.
I have a vinyl cutting machine with which I cut our this whimsical pumpkin design but you can hand draw your design, use a regular stencil, or even employ the simple pencil transfer method you did in elementary school.
Step 2: Then simply paint your design.
Using an oil-based paint marker, trace and paint.
Step 3: Remove stencil and bake.
Once the paint is dry, carefully remove your stencil. Place in a cold oven and set to preheat to 250 degrees. Bake for 2 hours once the oven reaches desired temperature. Let oven cool completely before removing mugs.
This makes a fun project to do with kids and they make great gifts. Or simply enjoy your creating whilst sipping the delicious Dunkin’ Donuts® Original Blend Ground Coffee. Don’t you wish you could smell the screen?
Aww, this mug is too cute! I’ve always wanted to try stenciling a mug. Thank you for the very detailed tutorial. Now I have to find the time to try this. :)
That is a really fun DIY idea! I love unique mugs and especially gold!
What a cute idea! I never thought to decorate my own mug, but now I’m thinking, why not?!
Ohh I love the idea of painting your mugs. This is a great activity to add on our upcoming Halloween party. Hmm, I guess for adults activity to make a spooky or Halloween themed mug.
Super cute… and perfect with our pumpkin spiced coffee this fall!! I know I’ve got mine stocked and ready to go! Just a few more days and Fall is official :)
That looks very cool! I love that golden color you picked! I am not a crafty person but do appreciate people like you who can make pretty things. I do like DD decaf iced coffee with almond milk though.
Dunkin Donuts is a favorite. I love the way your mug turned out. This is such a great idea.
What a cute idea for a fall mug! This looks like fun and is perfect for my morning coffee as I chug it on the way to the bus stop!
