Preparing for Cold and Flu Season with Kleenex #SharetheSoft #Cbias

By Heather

October brought the very first cold virus to our household. After running its course through Emma and Kevin, Ryan and I got it. It’s been about a month since my system was attacked and I’m trying to remember the last time a cold held on for this long!

Our illnesses forced us to stock our medicine cabinet early this year, but there were still a few items we needed to replenish. So in my delirium, I brought both Emma and Ryan along to help me shop. Help. Hah.

We ended up purchasing infant fever reducer and cold lozenges along with tea. You can’t get through a cold or the flu without lots of hot tea with lemon and honey. At least I can’t.

But the most basic and perhaps essential item you’ll need this winter season is tissues. We seem to go through them even when we’re not sick. But when we are, you bet we’re going to reach for the softest tissues we can find. Tissues can be hard on noses, ya know. But Kleenex makes the softest of its kind.

When you’re shopping at Walmart, look for specially marked packages of Kleenex. We snagged a 4-pack of tissue boxes with this fantastic offer for a $4 movie credit from Vudu. It was easy to redeem the credit; I just entered the code found inside the packaging and entered my information to sign up for an account. You don’t need to enter credit card information in order to redeem the credit offer. The rentals stream from your computer, Xbox 360, Playstation3, iPad and more.

With Vudu, there is a good selection of movies in many different categories, some older and some newer. It’s a great resource to have when you’re not feeling well enough to pick a movie up at the store. We haven’t watched our film yet but we decided that we’ll watch Madagascar 3 this week with Vudu since we didn’t get a chance to see it in the movie theatre over the summer.

It’s the perfect partnership, because when you’re feeling under-the-weather there’s nothing else to do but curl up on the sofa with your tissues, tea and a great movie to serve as a distraction.

I didn’t think to get tea! Tea is great when you’re sick! I drink it as much as possible!
