Philips Airfryer Home30 Challenge + Giveaway

By Heather

Philips airfryer

As much as I love to cook elaborate meals, the reality is that as a busy mom sometimes I only have minutes to get dinner on the table. That might normally mean a lot of unhealthy meals or fast food, but it really doesn’t have to when you’ve got the right tools.

The Philips Airfryer is an excellent machine. I have been using it so much in the last two weeks that I am starting to wonder how I ever lived without it. For the most part I’ve been using the airfryer to make chicken tenders and fries for the kids. Thanks to the Philips Airfryer’s rapid air technology, the food tastes like it’s been deep fried, but it doesn’t require a single drop of oil. Plus, we’re saving money on takeout because I know if we ordered a similar meal at a restaurant, it won’t be nearly as healthy.

Chicken using Philips airfryer

Not only is the food I cook with the airfryer healthy, but the cooking is done in a fraction of the time it would normally take in the oven which is pretty amazing. Chicken tenders are done in 6 minutes, compared with 25 in the oven.

I love the handy sticker guide for quickly determining cooking time. There is also a timer which is very useful.

Philips Airfryer Home30 Challenge

I’m embarking on the Philips Airfryer Home30 Challenge over the next 30 days and beyond, I suspect. The challenge is to make easy, healthy meals using the airfryer just to see how easy it really is to get a wholesome dinner on the table in minutes.

Just tonight I cooked meatballs in the airfryer and they came out great. I even cooked half of them in the oven to see if there was a difference and you won’t believe what I found. The airfryer meatballs cooked more evenly and in less than half the time it took the others to bake in the oven. In the next few weeks I plan on making homemade fries and more yummy recipes that I found in the recipe book that came with the machine. In other words, I promise to be more adventurous with my airfryer cooking. I will be sure to report back on the results.

Airfryer cord keeper

A nice feature is the cordkeeper. Pull out the electrical cord when using and fish it back in for easy, fuss free storage!

The only drawback that I can see is that I wish that the basket had a larger capacity. It would be nice to cook a complete meal for at least both of my kids in one fell swoop. But as it is, it’s not a huge inconvenience for me to have to cook in batches given the short cooking time.

GIVEAWAY

One lucky reader will win a recipe box, seasoning set, Misto oil sprayer, measuring spoons, Philips Airfryer coupon [good for 20% off on up to two Airfryers (any model) per customer] and Philips Airfryer recipe book.

Wow…I never heard of this product before. I would probably use it for our weekly “snack” night for things like egg rolls, spanakopita, chicken nugget/wings and mozzarella sticks. It would be a pretty little tool for our house :)
