If there’s one thing I’m truly passionate about, it’s that domestic animals should be adopted and not purchased. I wouldn’t buy a baby and I certainly not a furry member of the family. I refuse. They’re priceless anyway.
Before the kiddos came along and we were newly wed, my husband and I adopted our two tabby kitties. We had just purchased a new house but after settling in, it didn’t feel like a home just yet. Kids weren’t even on our radar at that time, but we had both grown up with animals in our homes and knew that this was what our house was missing in order to make it a place we could call home.
One day we were at a pet store where we always like to check out the kitties up for adoption – even to this day. Sure enough we happened upon two adorable 8-week old kittens. The one we now call Winston touched my face with his little paw as if he was choosing me. Our hearts melted, and unable to resist their personalities and devilish good looks, we adopted them on the spot and brought them home.
It was such a joy to fill our home with these beautiful creatures and then watching them bond with our human babies. For many years we spoiled them with fancy toys and accessories. These days, all they want is yummy food and treats. Don’t we all? I found their newest favorites yesterday at Dollar General: 9Lives® Hearty Cuts Beef & Chicken in Gravy and 9Lives® Super Supper.
This year will mark twelve years of having our beloved Winston and Spencer in our lives. Morris the 9Lives Cat is also celebrating an Adopt-i-versary – his 50th! Learn more about Morris here and his Cat Pack. Visit his Facebook page too.
Buy 9Lives® wet food at Dollar General and earn $.50 cash back. If you purchase9Lives® dry cat food you can earn $2.50. Both offers are through the Ibotta app.
They look so adorable! I think they deserve good food like this. Glad that there is a cash back promo for it right now.
Such a great story on how you adopted your fur baby. Definitely makes me miss having a fur baby of my own. Your babies are beautiful.
Such a great story. Your cats are both adorable and with or without kids, they certainly help make a house a home
I think cats just know who would be the right person to take them home. Then they take over your house. Oh well. I love cats so much!
What a beautiful story! We adopted our pups many years ago! I need to pass this info on to our friends with cats, this food sounds great for them!
They are so cute! We have two dogs that we adopted and they are definitely loved and members of our family. I would love to be able to get a cat but my daughter is very allergic to them, she is trying to convince me we should get another dog!
I love how he “chose” you, so sweet! I don’t think I’d be able to resist either :)
Your cat is so sweet! I am so glad you adopted her and gave her a loving family.
