Happy New Year, everyone! The last few weeks i’ve been holed up indoors taking care of my newborn daughter and rambunctious toddler. I’ve managed to escape the crazy weather the East coast has been experiencing, but that means i’ve needed to come up with activities for my daughter. There are only so many art projects and dress-up parties I can have with the newborn, so i’ll be the first to admit that sometimes I have to buy myself some time by popping in a DVD. It’s even better when it’s an international EMMY award-winning DVD!
Here Come the Octonauts is now available for the FIRST time on DVD from NCircle Entertainment:
In Here Come the Octonauts, Captain Barnacles must figure out how to free an old friend who is trapped beneath the ice; Kwazii tries to rescue a reef full of creatures before an undersea storm strikes; and Peso must help a school of frightened fish who have invaded the Octopod! Based on the books of the same name by Vicki Wong and Michael Murphy, who write under the name Meomi, Octonauts is broadcast weekday mornings on Disney Channel’s Disney Junior block. The Octonauts received a BAFTA nomination for Best Animated Preschool Show in 2011 and 2013; and in October 2012 was nominated for an International EMMY Award.
This was the first time my daughter watched the Octonauts, but it was a welcomed change from all of the princess shows we have been watching lately. The DVD is great and my daughter really enjoyed the characters – she loves all things sea/beach related so that was an added-plus.
Color and collect all of the Octonauts Octo-Crew Cards at At Disney Junior’s website. They also have full episodes on there (which are great when you’re on the road with your little one and an ipad/iphone).You can also decorate your own Kelp Cake, navigate a maze, play hide and seek and enjoy more coloring activities and “look and find” games at Octonauts.com.
The DVD is now available at Walmart and many other retailers and grocery stores nationwide – it’s also available online – currently on Amazon for only $8.48. Check out the NCircle Entertainment on Facebook and these fun activity pages.
One lucky reader will win “Here Come the Octonauts” on DVD!
