Alexa and Monique Peters are the mother-daughter team behind Cooper and Me, a book series about a Labrador Retriever named Cooper and his friends and the emotions they encounter in a variety of situations in life. The authors were kind enough to send me two books from their growing four-book series.
Selected were Cooper and Me and Cooper and Me and the Winter Adventure. Books and reading are a major part of my day, particularly as a mother. Books have always been my main hobby, and now that Jack is here, I make sure to expose him to books and stories every day to plant that seed in him, as well. I’ve read to him daily and love receiving new materials. Cooper and Me presented no exception! The adorable illustrations were charming, and Jack loved the bright colors. While he’s too young yet to truly understand the storyline, I appreciated the emotional lessons that underlie the story itself. And I just adore anything that frames dogs and animals in such a positive light. Dogs are also a wonderful, important part of our life. Jack loves them already, so much, and enjoys looking at books that feature dogs, and animals in general. I think children’s relationships with animals are so vital to their development, social skills and learned compassion. It’s evident that the Cooper and Me authors believe this as well.
Cooper & Me retails for $12.99 and includes a free song download. The Peters’ work and products raises awareness and funds for both the Happy Hearts Fund and The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer.
The Cooper and Me website has lots of fun activities to check out in compliment to the books. Check them out on Facebook, too.
