Last weekend we got hit with that major storm that tackled the east coast. We were at a party during most of the day on Saturday, a party that was about an hour and a half away from where we live. It took us three hours to get home that night. Between the lights being out of order with power outages and/or downed lines, and road closures due to flooding, navigating our way home was a major feat. When we finally arrived, we learned that our power was out. Okaaay, so what are we supposed to do now?
First, we couldn’t enter the house in our normal way, through the garage, because that would require power. So we actually had to get into our home the orginal way – with a key! Problem was, it was dark and we hadn’t turned our outside lights on (We really need to set them to go on automatically – just add it to the list). My husband left Emmy and I in the car while he tried to find his way to the back door. After a few minutes, it occured to me that the Palm Pre could help here – with the Flashlight app! It’s free by the way. Who knew a cell phone could help you get into your house?
But the real life saver was the music I had. My Palm Pre Plus has literally replaced my iPod. And the best part is that you don’t need headphones to hear it. I played some cheery music and Emma was dancing her little butt off in the dark. It kept her busy, and entertained until the power was back on an hour later.
It’s easy to transfer your music library onto the Palm Pre Plus. Like with photos, use the usb cord to plug the phone into your computer and simply move the files over. You can also download Amazon mp3’s using the application that comes pre-downloaded onto your phone. You can even select one of your favorite songs and add it to your ringtones too.
No compensation was received for this post. I did receive a Palm Pre Plus 3G smartphone and one month of service from Verizon, to facilitate my candid review. I hope you find it to be helpful.
