This sponsored post was written while participating in my partnership with Sprout and One2One Network, but as always, all opinions are my own.
As a photography lover and a mom, I’ve always felt more comfortable behind the lens. I’m interested in capturing moments and discovering new ways to look at things through my DSLR or phone, etc. It’s a comfort zone thing, and also an I’m-not-crazy-about-how-I-look-right-now thing. But then I started to realize that, even though I was there when these memories were being created, no one would know it. You can’t see me, and my kids might not remember if I was present while going through the photos years from now. So I decided that I needed to make a change in how I handled the photo situation.
Sometimes it’s not all that convenient to get everyone in the picture. Someone needs to be the picture-taker. As much as I hate hearing the word “selfie”, the ability to reverse those cameras on our phones sure makes the task of getting complete family photos a whole lot easier, and without having to bug a stranger. Which we also do; it’s important to step out of your comfort zone to capture fun times and record them forever.
One of my favorite mommy/daughter selfies. On our favorite ride in Ocean City.

Robin (Masshole Mommy) says
I am the queen of asking strangers to take family photos. Usually, I scope out another family and offer to take their photo in exchange for them taking ours.
