Life is short, we all realize this but some of us need reminding every now and again. How do you milk life, so to speak? Do you seize the day, or is life passing you by? We try to do the former, and just to make sure we’re on point we completed a few challenges posed on the Milk Life facebook page.

Milk Life Challenge #13: Lend A Helping Hand
There are organizations in your area that need your help. Tell us how you’ll help within your community.
We became aware of an organization needing assistance at our Parish after mass. Father Andrew encouraged parishioners to spare change for homeless mothers in need in Southern New Jersey. We decided to write two separate checks instead of using change and as a family we turned in the bottles.
There are so many deserving charities needing help whether physical help or financial assistance. It can be overwhelming. Many people feel that they can’t really make a difference, but that can’t be further from the truth. Every bit helps and it’s such a rewarding feeling to give back to your community, in whatever capacity you can afford.

Milk Life Challenge #15 (Memorial Day): Celebrate Three-Day Freedom.
Tell us how you’ll spend today!
My daughter and the rest of her baseball team had the opportunity to be a part of our town’s Memorial Day parade. They got to ride on a hay-filled float and toss candy to the children. Ryan and I hung back and enjoyed watching the parade as onlookers. which featured so many interesting things to see.
Lots of people came out to give thanks to our service men and women. There were also vintage cars, beautiful Clydesdales, even Rosie the Riveter.
Afterward we did a little shopping at the home improvement store, and then we came home to finish the work on our patio. Later in the evening we had some neighbors over for nice relaxing barbecue. The weather was perfect for a night on the patio, and we squeezed every last minute out of the day. We sure milked the heck out of our day, and it was a keeper.
My kids can’t go a single day without having milk for breakfast, and dinner for that matter. With 8 grams of high-quality protein and 9 essential nutrients, milk helps you make the most out of each and every day.
