Mikarose, Reinventing Modesty Review and Give Away

When I was invited to pick out something for myself from Mika Rose to review, I was excited.  I spent a long time going through their offerings of dresses, skirts, tops and accessories.  I decided I was going to treat myself to a new dress and I found the hardest part was deciding which one.  There were just so many cute designs that I loved!  I had finally narrowed it down to the MaryAnn and the Katherine.  Ultimately, I decided to go with the Katherine because I figured I would just get the most use out of a black dress.  I could dress it up with heals, or dress it down with a blazer and boots.

Imagine my disappointment when my new dress arrived and it didn’t fit right.  I just hated the way I looked in it and I was crushed.  I had such plans for a new Little Black Dress hanging in my closet!  I didn’t need to fret though; a call to customer service was all it took.  The representative that handled my phone call was not only pleasant but very helpful.  I told her that there were a few options that I was looking at to exchange it with but that the website indicated they weren’t available in my size.  She took the time to go through the inventory files on her end and saw that what I wanted would be available shortly in my size and took my replacement order for a Cowl Neck Top.

My new top arrived just in time for the holidays making my decision of what to wear on Christmas Eve that much easier!  It is a pretty top that can be worn on it’s own or under your favorite blazer or sweater.  I found that the small amount of spandex in the material blend made it a little clingy and hugged some of my not-so-great-looking-rolls of my midsection.  However, because I’m on the petite size, the shirt was long enough to rouche and detract from the form fitting hugs a little bit.  It washed well and is ready for another wear.  The cowl neck is probably my favorite part, I feel I don’t need a lot of accessories to complete my look.  A pair of cute earrings and off I go!
