Tis the season for counting our blessings and feeling thankful. It is a great time to look around at the people around us and take notice of the value they add to our lives. Why not take a moment to say thank you to them?
My thank you goes out to one of my dear friends who opened her heart and her home to my family recently during the hurricane. During the weeks we were without power, we were also without heat and Sandy brought a cold front in with her. To say it was chilly in my house would be a mild understatement. This particular friend invited us over to warm up, and then allowed me to move my children into her house for four days until we were able to move in with family. Our two families enjoyed our dinners together and then we gathered in the family room to watch some television before we’d send the kids off to bed and then my husband and I would head home to bed. I am grateful to her for allowing the intrusion and gracefully accepting the 5 of us into her home.
