We like to stop in at the pet store from time to time and check out the fish, birds and dogs and cats up for adoption. We have two cats in our family already and I love them dearly but I do want a dog at some point. Just not now.
So I just downloaded this new free app called Cube Dog on my iPhone. It’s the closest thing I’ll get to the real thing for at least a few years.
After I downloaded the app I had an idea but was really not sure what to expect. Many times when I download something for my phone I have a hard time figuring out how to use it. The Cube Dog app was so easy to figure out with easy to follow, user friendly instructions.
The app walked me through how to create my very own cube dog. I chose the color, face, body, eyes and ears. This in and of itself was fun to play around with, seeing how each design changed the look of my dog. This is something I can even see my two and a half year old playing with, it’s that simple.
But after I created my virtual pup, the real fun began. In some ways, my virtual dog is way cooler than a real dog would be. I mean a real live dog can’t do all of the things my Cube Dog does. All I have to do is pet, shake and tap to get his attention and he’ll do his thing.
He falls in love, karate chops, and sometimes he even tells me to go away. The nerve!
You can zoom in and out, and rotate your Cube Dog to view him (or her) at any angle as it is completely 3-dimensional. Pretty nifty, huh? And the best part is, there is no walking, feeding or cleaning required. You can bring this dog wherever you go for fun on the run.
Download It! Cube Dog is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later. It’s FREE! Be on the lookout for a fun contest which will be announced on the Cube Dog Facebook page very soon.
