I have a little secret to share. Santa is already waiting for you at The Deptford Mall! It’s not even December, but we’re getting into the Christmas spirit early. My family stopped over at Santa HQ yesterday at around 10:30am and there was not one other family in line when we arrived. It pays to be the early bird. Every year we try to beat the rush and see Santa before the holiday crowds descend.
Are you a procrastinator when it comes to that obligatory Santa visit? No worries, because you can actually make reservations to see the big guy so that you don’t have to wait in a long line with your little ones. Just visit www.santa-hq.com to plan your visit. I still strongly suggest that you plan your visit early anyway – I promise you won’t have any regrets!
We were welcomed right in, even thought we arrived before our appointment time. The naughty or nice o’meter was temporarily down, but you can see what that was like from our experience last year. What I like about this Santa experience is that there are several photo opportunities. After entering, your family will be welcomed over to the first area where there is a festive backdrop and photo props (my favorite!) are available for your use.
Once inside Santa HQ, you will have the opportunity to create your own elfie which you then have the opportunity to email to yourself. If you didn’t already know, Santa HQ is presented by HGTV which is my favorite channel to watch. The kids recognized all of my favorite friends-in-my-head, whose photos are displayed on the walls as we moved into the next section, the North Pole Observatory where they used special tablets to view Santa’s magical world in “Elf-Ray Vision”. The kids were excited to get a sneak peak!
The highlight of our experience is always meeting Santa Claus who took his time chatting with my two kiddos. He is truly the best, most authentic Santa!
Santa HQ will be open seven days a week in Center Court. Hours are 10am-9:30pm with some exceptions.

My kids would seriously love to go here. They love seeing santa clause. We don’t live close enough though :(
Oh those memories of my kids when they were still young and believed in Santa Claus! It was such a magical time for them and seeing Santa was a yearly activity for us. Now that they are grown, they still find the idea of going to the mall to see Santa, not for themselves but to see the little kids with total excitement in their eyes.
This takes me back to when my boys were small and we went to the Ocean County Mall or Freehold Mall to see Santa. That’s a lovely backdrop!
Yep! I remember the line looping through Macy’s. Haven’t been to that mall in ages.
My kids are never really into taking pictures with Santa even when they were little. I remember when I tried to bring them to the mall, my son was scared to death lol. Those photos turned out really well.
We haven’t seen Santa in a few years. The kids refused one year and we never went back. I’m kind of bummed about that. Maybe I’ll pull the “mom card” and make them do it this year!
It’s awesome that you were able to see Santa already. It’s going to be a lot of fun visiting Santa at the mall this year!
Wow, I’m sure this will draw a crowd. Kids love seeing Santa. They get so excited around this time of the year.
This looks like a great Santa experience. It’s definitely best to beat the holiday crowds!
What a great Santa and cool activities! We love to visit Santa each year.
