Mealtime is Easy with Fresh Baby – Review + Giveaway

By Heather

Contest Closed
Emma has always been very clear on what she does and doesn’t like to eat, and she will only eat a handful of jarred foods.  I can totally understand why.  Have you tasted jarred green beans, broccoli and cheddar, or “lasagna”?  If you’re like me you have, and then you gagged immediately afterwards.  Those jarred foods taste horrible and they just aren’t fresh.

I’ve seen the So Easy Baby Food Kit by Fresh Baby at baby showers before.  Unfortunately, I did not see it at my shower!  The kit comes with a hardcover recipe book, an instructional DVD, two freezer trays and a tip card.  The book offers different variations on each recipe and areas to note baby’s likes and dislikes.  There are even pages for photos and record-keeping.
Even though Emma is now 14 months old, she is a picky eater so we still buy a few jarred foods to mix in with her meals. I was super excited to try my hand at making baby food, but also a little nervous because I didn’t know how involved this would be.  Once I watched the instructional DVD, I knew this would be a piece of cake and it really was.  My only regret is that I did not start this months ago.
For my first homemade meal I prepared one of Emma’s favorites, sweet potatoes.  I added a little bit of cinnamon (there are other great suggestions in the book too).  It happened to be around dinner time so I gave Emma a taste and she loved it.  Heck, I loved it!  I spooned the yam mixture into the freezer trays that come with the So Easy Baby Food Kit.  Once I was done I fastened the lids onto my trays and popped them into the freezer.  By tomorrow morning, I’ll be able to pop the sweet-potato rectangles into a freezer bag and then I’ll move into my next baby food until I have a nice supply.

Like I said, Emma has been very picky and hard to deal with during mealtimes recently.  Fresh Baby also sent us the Toddler Food book which is full of helpful tips and great recipes to help me get out of our mealtime rut.  One of the topics, “Converting Picky Eaters”.  Time will tell, but I think we’re well on our way to mealtime sanity.

BUY IT! You’ll love having more control over what your baby eats, and watching him or her enjoy fresh-tasting food.
