Hear this. Massage treatments are essential for total mind and body health. I know this for a fact, due to my own recent experience. After experiencing terrible headaches, nausea and dizziness for a few months, I was on a mission to discover the root cause.
The pain was so bad at times that it affected my day-to-day life and the people around me. I tried my best to live my life as normal as possible, so I medicated to help suppress my symptoms, and that in turn made my condition worse. I literally thought I must be suffering from something more serious like a brain tumor, because my pain wasn’t going away.
Cat-Scan, MRI and a multitude of blood tests and countless doctor appointments and ER visits later, it was discovered that what I’d been suffering from is tension headaches. It’s amazing what stress can do to our bodies, and it totally made sense. For months I had been taking care of everybody else, all while neglecting my own needs.
Massage Envy believes total body care is an integral part of everyone’s wellness journey, and is dedicated to helping their members and guests achieve this. What is Total Body Care? Total Body Care is where we pause during the daily grind to check-in and tune up.
After weeks of physical therapy and therapeutic massage treatments, I have been feeling much better. I try not to think about how my dollars spent seeing specialists could have been better used on massage treatments. Massage essential part of maintaining our bodies, just as important as keeping up with our doctor appointments.
So if you have stress in your life – and who doesn’t? Make sure you work massage into your routine. Treating your body well shouldn’t be a luxury. I have committed to getting regular massages, because I don’t want to experience what I went through again.
How often do you get massage treatments?

I try to get a massage at least once a month. It is also a great plus that my sister is a licensed massage therapist.

Massages are a wonderful way to destress and relax. My husband goes for a monthly massage and it helps him so much.

I love massages! I could definitely use one right now. I have an old neck injury and carry my stress there.
I am glad that you got relief!!!

I love getting a massage – it’s such a splurge and pampering! I’ve given them as gifts to other moms and even the kid’s teachers at school!

My SIL is a massage therapist! When we have family get-togethers, everyone fights to sit on the floor at her feet. It’s hilarious. She’s a really good sport about it — but she also reminds us all to consider getting regular massages at home.
Once when traveling, I slipped on a wet floor and caught myself with my arm. It did some soft tissue damage to my shoulders and neck. She sent me a self-massage YouTube video to help work through it. (I still prefer her massages though)

I have never gotten a full massage. I probably could use one, since I’m mostly tense and stressed out. The benefits to massage are wonderful.

I have never had a massage. I have issue with strangers touching me like that. I hope to conquer my fears one day and get one.

I totally agree with you! Stress can be a killer and I had huge neck issues for years and even though I did everything under the sun, massage therapy was one of the best ways to find relief. I hope it continues to work for you!
