Returning back to school is no easy feat for anyone, neither children nor parents. After a few months of sleeping in, suddenly we are faced with the jolting sounds of a blaring alarm clock. I’ll be packing lunches and making sure everyone is appropriately dressed all before the school bus pulls up. I’m so not looking forward to that stressful morning rush each day but I’m not going to lie; I am looking forward to everyone being back to school.
The other part of the day I’m dreading a little bit? Homework. Let’s just say that common core is not my thing. The frustrating after school work is usually plagued with lots of complaining and tears and it all happens around the same time that I’m preparing dinner. This is what I call the second rush of the day, and it’s bound to give me a headache.
Back-to-school also means our kids are stepping into the petri dish we commonly call the classroom. After a long summer children not accustomed to being in enclosed spaces for long periods of time. Now that’ll change and our kids will exchange germs and bacteria and inevitably will catch something. Right before fall I stock up on medicine just so that I’m prepared.
It’s time to focus on the other items that need to be squared away before school starts. I put together this back to school checklist printable to help you get all of your affairs in order.
I always keep the house stocked with Tylenol! Nothing worse than getting a headache and not having any!
