You won’t find many nick-knacks inside my home. I try and keep things fairly simple when decorating, so there aren’t a ton of things lying around. Other than that cluttered look, it’s also labor intensive having to dust and polish all of those things. And I certainly don’t have time to dust.
But when it comes to decorating the outside of my home, all bets are off. I thoroughly enjoy my garden and patio as all of the plants come alive in the Spring, so the more the merrier is my rule when it comes to flowers, plants, and garden decor. I enjoy the whimsy outdoors, where I don’t have to dust.
That’s not to say there is no work involved. There is still planting, weeding, fertilizing, mulching and more.
The one thing that I’d like my plants to do is water themselves. When I found the Lexington self-watering planters from Plow & Hearth I loved them for how they looked. I have been looking for a set of window boxes to add to the curb appeal of my home, and I really loved the elegant traditional design.
Whether they really worked would remain to be seen. Plow & Hearth sent me the 14″ square planter to see for myself. After a few weeks, I can attest to the fact that this planter not only looks amazing, but it has allowed my flowers to thrive throughout this heatwave we’ve been having.
Now I know which window planters to buy. It’s just a matter of which color: white or black? And as with the Lexington planters they too are Made in the USA.
