Being a mom of an infant and a preschooler at once leaves me with very little time for myself. My skin care routine involves a 2-minute at-home microdermabrasion system in the shower –when I can get one, followed by moisturizer. I hardly wear makeup during the week, which I’m finding harder and harder to pull off these days.
I’ve had deep forehead and necklines even in my 20s, possibly earlier, so I jumped at the chance to try the L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoothing Finishing Cream to see what it could do. When I received the product, I was confused by the label. It says it’s finishing cream, then in another place calls itself sunscreen. Nevertheless the packaging also states, “30 second miracle”, and that fit right in with my hectic schedule. Let’s do this.
First, I tried it without makeup. The product was very hard to squeeze from the tube, but once it did I immediately recognized the texture: This was a primer. I’d used something like this before. While it did feel nice and smooth without being greasy, and it improved the look of my skin just a tad, there was nothing really miraculous about it. Bummer.
Over the weekend I decided to try it under my makeup. Using it this way, I liked it much better. The product filled in the large ugly pores my nose is cursed with, so instead of accentuating them my foundation glided over a much smoother surface.
While I like using this as a primer under makeup, I don’t feel that it lives up to the claims knowing what I know. I don’t love this product enough to spend over twenty dollars for it when there are cheaper, similar products available.

I don’t wear make-up and I don’t have any wrinkles…..YET, but I will keep this in mind for when one pops up.
