Contest Closed – Congrats to commenter #66 Debbie Stanton
I was watching a children’s film with Emma this morning, and the young character in the movie looked like a cartoon version of my daughter. Emma watched more intently than she ever has, studying the “girl” that looked just like herself. It engaged her, and though she is too young to verbally confirm, I have no doubt that it sparked her imagination. The only thing that might have made it more interesting to her is if the girl had the same first name.
We can probably consider this movie a new favorite because of their similarities, but it’s not I like to do any convincing when movies are concerned. There will always be films and television programs to interest her. If anything, we need to watch less television, and do more reading. Because of their unique personalization, Little Wonder books are very special.
First, you start with your character – the special child who will be featured in the book. You can create the cartoon version of the child by filling in their physical traits like hair color, skin color, hairstyle and freckles, etc. Once you name your child, you then select the story that he or she will star in.
Emma and I created a book for one of her friends who has a birthday coming up. I thought it would be a cute “from Emma” gift on his special day. We made the softcover version of “Little Boy Lightning”. It’s a 6”x8” book that costs only $12.99 and not only features the character you created, but also the child’s name throughout the story.
A little about the “Little Boy Lightning” story:
This adventure revolves around a little boy who steps through his mirror and toward a voice only to find himself in the land of his favorite super hero, Little Boy Lightning. He is called upon to save the day and keep his new friends safe from the likes of a fire-breathing dragon, a larger than life rattlesnake and a hungry growling bear! This is a perfect story for a little boy who likes to be the hero of the day!
We personalized the book for the birthday boy so that he’ll always know who gave it to him. I love the idea of giving the book along with a gift so it acts as a card. Why waste money on a card when you can give something better – a short story that will foster a child’s imagination.
